Thank you for visiting the "Founding Fathers" page! So much has been written about our Founding Fathers that it would take a lifetime for me to put within these pages. The BEST I can do is to include the essential highlights of their wisdom in drafting and crafting the Constitution of the United States; the longest working constitution in the history of the world...
History class was the most (YAWN!) boring class I ever had in school. After all, what would I ever need to use it for? I used to just blame history for that - now I blame the teachers for not making it exciting and relevant. (SUGGESTION: Make it a year-long project for every student to do a genealogy of their family to make history more interesting, personal, and relevant. For example, www.Ancestry.com) We are living history every day. Isn't it interesting to learn what went on this date 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, etc., years ago?
There is a wise old saying that goes

There is a wise old saying that goes
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
This quote is generally attributed to Winston Churchill, and he may very well have said a version of it, but it was written by Jorge (George) Santayana in his book "The Life of Reason", (1905). Now isn't that interesting? Now you're smarter then your friends...unless they too frequent this website.
During the 2008 presidential campaign I was "born again" (politcally) and history had significant importance and relevance to me. I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Mr. Obama for making me read and study the Constitution of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Anti-Federalist Papers (Tell the truth now, did you even know that there were Anti-Federalist Papers?). It's not only important to read and study the books and writings of our Founding Fathers, it is essential to read the books and writings of others who influenced them, such as "The Law of Nations" by Emerich de Vattel (1758). It is well documented that Benjamin Franklin received at least three copies, at least one of which was available and used as a reference book at the Constitutional Convention during the drafting of the Constitution.
In Book 1, Chapter 19, Section 212 of The Law of Nations, Vattel concisely defines "natural born Citizen" as "a person born of parents (plural) who are citizens (plural) of the country."
The more I learn about the Founding Fathers, the more I'm amazed at their education and intelligence and MOST OF ALL, their WISDOM. It is beyond compare compared to the clowns we have in Congress today. And the truly sad thing is, is that the government school system is dumbing down the education of our children - our nation's future leaders.
Knowledge is power.
There is no replacement for a great teacher.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears. (Sometimes it's one in the same...)

The Founding Fathers Tried to Warn Us About the Threat From a Two-Party System
Posted on July 7, 2011 by WashingtonsBlog
Polls show that a majority of Americans say that both the Republicans and Democrats are doing such a poor job representing the people that a new, third party is needed.
I’ve repeatedly warned that there is a scripted, psuedo-war between Dems and Repubs, liberals and conservatives which is in reality a false divide-and-conquer dog-and-pony show created by the powers that be to keep the American people divided and distracted. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.
In fact, the Founding Fathers warned us about the threat from a two party system.

See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.
In fact, the Founding Fathers warned us about the threat from a two party system.
John Adams said:
"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."
George Washington agreed, saying in his farewell presidential speech:
"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty
"Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind, (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight,) the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
"It serves always to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration. It agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
"There is an opinion, that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the Government, and serve to keep alive the spirit of Liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in Governments of a Monarchical cast, Patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in Governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And, there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be, by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume."

I stand on the shoulders of many people greater than myself by attempting to bring together the best sources of reliable information, giving credit where credit is due. Do your own homework to know the subject, and understand what you know, so you can speak knowledgeably with others. Keep your mind open to new ideas and information and then analyze it using the good common sense that God gave you to arrive at an informed conclusion. Question BOLDLY.
